Compact, User-Friendly Underwater Drone with Full HD Camera and 15m Tether
The Chasing Dory is a lightweight, portable underwater drone designed as much for fun and exploration as for practical use. Equipped with a Full HD 1080p camera, low-light lens, built-in LED lights, and a diving depth of up to 15 metres, Dory is perfect for users without a diving licence who still want to discover and document the world below the surface.
It’s also an ideal tool for boaties and yacht clubs needing a simple, cost-effective way to inspect harbours, moorings, and hulls.
Weighing just 1.3 kg, Dory is easy to launch and control via a dedicated mobile app available for both iOS and Android. It streams real-time footage directly to your smartphone with no delay. You can even share control between two devices: one managing movement, the other handling the camera.
The drone communicates via WiFi through a floating signal buoy, which maintains a tethered connection to Dory using a 15-metre cable. The buoy stores video files, includes 8 GB of onboard memory, and features built-in GPS for positional tracking and out-of-range alerts.
Five thrusters enable precise control:
Two for forward and sideways movement
Three for depth and tilt adjustment
With depth lock and +/- 45° tilt lock, the drone can hover at a specific depth while pointing upward toward a hull or downward at the seafloor that allows for steady, angled footage without constant adjustment.
